Levi Ladd, Senior Lead Surveyor and Main-Land’s Newport Office Manager, is a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), Certified Floodplain Surveyor (CFS), Certified Mapping Scientist (CMS), Certified GIS Professional (GISP), and a certified small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) pilot. He is also currently serving the Maine Society of Land Surveyors (MSLS) as the organization’s Vice President.
Levi is from Milo, Maine, and is a graduate of Penquis Valley High School in Milo, Maine in 2001. He received his B.A. in Geography from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2006 and his Graduate Certificate in Surveying Engineering from the University of Maine at Orono in 2023. Levi has almost 20 years of experience in surveying, geomatics, and the geospatial sciences. Levi procures, manages, and oversees land survey projects out of Main-Land’s Newport office and is Main-Land’s service leader for reality capture and remote sensing projects, including laser scanning, aerial drone surveys, and bathymetric surveys, as well as Main-Land GIS projects.
Levi has worked as a GIS professional and/or as a surveyor for several consulting firms, including James W. Sewall, Kleinschmidt, and Haley Ward, before starting his own business: Maine Mapping Company, in 2022. Maine Mapping Company was acquired by Main-Land in 2024, allowing Levi to join the Main-Land team to lead and grow the Newport office as well as integrate advanced surveying technologies into Main-Lands surveying and engineering service offerings. Levi also functions as a project manager and signing surveyor on: boundary, topographic, construction, bathymetric surveys, high definition, aerial, and floodplain (FEMA elevation) surveys, respectively.
Levi lives with his wife, son, and three daughters in Dexter, Maine.
